A survey from the Swiss Managers Association indicates that traditional Swiss management, focused on loyalty and performance, may become a hindrance in the face of global competition. Companies will need to prioritize flexibility, enthusiasm, and risk-taking to stay competitive. However, Swiss values like inclusivity remain valuable.

Is Swiss-style management outdated?
A survey conducted by the Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences for the Swiss Managers Association (ASC) suggests that the dominant characteristics of Swiss management may no longer be suitable for future challenges. According to the 449 managers surveyed, Swiss management is focused on quality, loyalty, and performance, but lacks flexibility, enthusiasm, and risk-taking abilities. These qualities will be crucial for companies to face global competition, particularly in terms of innovation and adaptability. The ASC warns that the lack of flexibility may stifle innovation and become a long-term obstacle. To address this, Swiss leaders should revise their managerial approach, emphasizing values such as flexibility, enthusiasm, and risk-taking. However, certain aspects of Swiss management, such as its less hierarchical and more inclusive style, remain valuable competitive advantages.
